About Emily

I moved to Rohnert Park from the Central Valley in 2000 to attend SSU, graduating with a Sociology degree. I fell in love with the area’s natural beauty and set deep roots while working, volunteering, and establishing lifelong friendships and business relationships.

In 2011, my husband Kelly and I purchased our first home in Rohnert Park’s ‘L’ section. He teaches special education, and I work for organic food manufacturer Straus Family Creamery. Together we raise two young children. I serve on the PTA and Garden Committee to raise funds for essential programs, volunteer with Girl Scouts, and foster service dogs.  My passion for the environment, food, and community service has led me on a journey of personal and professional growth helping nonprofits and small business owners through transitions and growth.

I’m eager to understand different perspectives within our diverse community, identify common priorities, and work to ensure that all members feel represented. My integrity, work ethic, resourcefulness, and creative problem solving will be invaluable leadership skills to identify actions that build our city’s resilience to climate change, address housing instability, and utilize our partnerships and resources to their full potential.

TOGETHER we can do great things now for our city’s future!
